The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
