The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
