Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which opens up with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
