The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who createth, then disposeth; 2 Who determines and directs, 3 And Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We shall make you to recite (the Quran), so you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) shall not forget (it), 6 Except what Allah, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 He who fears (Allah) shall heed it, 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 He who will be flung to the great Fire 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
