The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
