The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the sun and its light 1 and by the moon as it follows it; 2 and by the day when it displays him 3 And the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 by the earth and Who spread it, 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 He does not fear the consequence. 15
Almighty Allah's Truth.
