The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, 1 Who created and proportioned 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. 5 We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget, 6 except what Allah should wish. He knows all that is manifest and all that is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 And the most wicked will stay away from it. 11 Who shall enter the great fire; 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
