Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
