Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
