Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
