So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
