Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
