Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
