Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
