Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
