Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
