Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
