Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
