Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
