The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sun and its morning brightness, 1 and by the moon when she follows him, 2 and by the day when it displays him 3 And by oath of the night when it hides it 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 And by oath of the soul and by oath of Him Who made it proper. 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 Truly he succeeds that purifies it, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 and He fears not the issue thereof. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
