Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 And the night when it enshroudeth him, 4 by the sky and how He built it 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 The soul and how it was integrated 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 Prosperous is he who purifies it, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 And He fears not its consequence. 15

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
