The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
