The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
