The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day resplendent 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And accepts the best, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
