The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
