The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
