The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
