The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
