The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
