The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
