The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
