Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
