Evil has spread over the land and the sea because of human deeds and through these God will cause some people to suffer so that perhaps they will return to Him. 41 (Muhammad), tell them, "Travel through the land to see how terrible was the end of those who lived before. Many of them were pagans. 42 Then turn thy face straight to the right religion before there come from Allah the day which cannot be averted; on that day they shall become separated. 43 Those who rejected the truth will bear the burden of that rejection, and those who did good deeds will have made good provision for themselves. 44 That He may reward those who believe and do good out of His grace; surely He does not love the unbelievers. 45 Among His Signs is this, that He sends the Winds, as heralds of Glad Tidings, giving you a taste of His (Grace and) Mercy,- that the ships may sail (majestically) by His Command and that ye may seek of His Bounty: in order that ye may be grateful. 46 Verily We sent many apostles before you to their people, who brought clear signs with them. Then We retributed those who were sinful. It is a duty incumbent on Us to help the believers. 47 It is God who sends the breezes that raise clouds, then spreads them over the sky as He please, fold on fold, then you see the drops of rain issue from between them. When He sends it down to those of His creatures as He will, they are filled with joy, 48 Although they were, before it was sent down upon them - before that, in despair. 49 Look then at the marks of Mercy of Allah; how He revives the earth after its death. He is the Reviver of the dead. He has power over all things. 50 Yet if We sent a wind so they see it yellow, indeed after that they would still be unbelievers. 51 So verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. the disbelievers, etc.), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs, turning away. 52 just as thou canst not lead the blind [of heart] out of their error: none canst thou make hear [thy call] save such as [are willing to] believe in Our messages, and thus surrender themselves unto Us. 53
