Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Therefor the orphan oppress not, 9 And do not rebuke the beggar. 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
