The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
