The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
