The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
