The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
