The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
