The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
