The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
