In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
