In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
