The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
