The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
