The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
