The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
