The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
