The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
