Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 And the chargers at dawn, 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 and penetrate deep into a host. 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 He himself bears witness to that. 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
