Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 forcing their way into the midst of the enemy, 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 And most surely he is a witness of that. 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
